“There’s just something special about this community,” reported a recent visitor to SIBC. Perhaps it’s our amazing morning teas with proper coffee or the friendly folk who stand ready to welcome people who pop in. Maybe it’s the many volunteers who give their time and energy to invest in the children and young people who are part of this community. Perhaps it’s the generosity of spirit that welcomes folk who find walking into a church makes them feel suddenly vulnerable.

Or, maybe, it’s special simply because it is a community that exists with a single focus – to love God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength and to love their neighbour as themselves.

Perhaps you are looking for a small community in which you can connect with God and with others.

At SIBC, we are seeking to be a community shaped by the life and example of Jesus extending grace and hospitality to all around us. We don’t have all the answers. In fact, sometimes we have more questions than answers, but are on a journey to make sense of life lived within the reign of God. Together as a community, we reflect on the Bible, thoughtfully and consistently, as it reveals God to us. Each week, we live as a dispersed community in the places in which we live and work and laugh and love, seeking to be the presence of Jesus in those spaces.
