At SIBC, we want to do more than say we ‘value’ children. We want to invest in their discipleship as well as learn from their spiritual insight. The children share with us in song and story during the first part of the service, often serving alongside their parents in a variety of roles.
Each Sunday morning, during KIDZONE, children have the opportunity to spend some time with committed leaders learning and sharing about the Bible in an age appropriate way through music, games, stories and activities.
One of the most beautiful expressions of community at SIBC is the children, who reach across age gaps to form a strong bond of community with one another. That sense of community can’t be taught, but only experienced – it is a highlight of the children’s week!
An important part of the discipleship of children is creating space for children to serve and lead. The children have recently formed their own worship band, which they named Soul Play. Soul Play leads worship for the congregation on an occasional basis, which young and old alike appreciate and enjoy!
